From CCUS Norway to you

2025 has been a landmark year for CCUS Norway. Together with our members and Board, we have:

  • Elected a new Board, representing the CCUS value chain – from energy industry actors and climate NGOs to research institutes, monitoring and verification providers, and environmental advisors – guiding CCUS Norway into an impactful 2026.

  • Gathered Norway’s regional CCUS clusters to accelerate cost-effective carbon capture, utilization, and storage at the national level.

  • Secured funding from Innovasjon Norge’s “Norwegian Innovation Clusters” (NIC) program to launch the CCUS Innovation cluster together with SINTEF.

  • Completed a comprehensive project mapping CO₂ transport challenges and opportunities, providing an overview of Norwegian capture projects and CO₂ volumes, informed by input from industry, energy providers, researchers, NGOs, and environmental organizations. Read the report here.

Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be an exciting year for CCUS Norway and the CCUS Innovation cluster. Together with our growing membership, we will among other things:

  • Host a National CCUS Cluster Workshop on 19 January, in partnership with @OsloCarbonCluster. Register here.

  • Launch a series of industry forums to map the needs of our members across the CCUS value chain and elevate their voices at the national political level.

  • Embark on an international study trip to explore CCUS infrastructure and learn from neighboring countries’ experiences.

  • Publish a position paper advocating for members’ priorities at the national level.

Through the CCUS Innovation cluster, CCUS Norway looks forward to driving meaningful progress toward these goals and supporting our members in achieving them.

Norway knows where its CO₂ comes from, and where it can be stored. But how do we connect the dots?
